| 3G in my area (Chicago downtown) took a nose dive... I work from home and have two towers nearby. Was getting on average 500k down for the first 6 months of iPhone 3G. Then about 2 months ago my data connection when to crap. I am barely getting Edge connection. Sometimes no connection–just a dot or nothing on toolbar. Got a credit on my data plan from ATT after they said they were working on nearby tower. Got a text a few days later saying problem had been fixed. Still no 3G around Van Buren and Desplaines, yet there are towers aplenty nearby. I've walked around the area and data is pretty much dead. I can't see ATT keeping iPhone exclusivity when they can't maintain decent data service in a populated area. |
