some questions before signing up...

My contract with Bell is about to expire and I have some questions before I sign up..

First, I'm thinking of buying the Netopia 3347, will there by any problems with this modem and the ssh tunnel or whatever methods Acanac uses to bypass throttling?

Do I need to pay the 227$ upfront (that's what I understood from the website), or can I get billed each month?
Do I need to make the modem deposit too, even though I'm using my own device?
Is there any way that I can pay besides visa/mastercard ? Ex: getting the bill in my mail?

Is there any chance that Bell will instate caps to their resellers?..If so, will the unlimited plan will still be kept with the current users?
And the last one: I'm currently living at 1780 Pl. Rodolphe-Bedard, H4L2P8..near Du College Metro, Montreal..is there any way that I can verify to see if I can get the full speeds?

Thank you..

Re: some questions before signing up...

For the modem can't say

yes if you want to get the special offer but if you want to pay each month it's 33.95/month

no you don't need to just tell them that you have your own modem

If you want to pay each month you have to do it with credit card only if you want to pay for the whole year you can send them the order form with a money order or check

If the CRTC approved what Bell is asking no everyone will have a limit (every ISP that use Bell phone line will have the limited plan)

To know where the nearest co is you can go here: »www.telcodata.us/telcodata/telco put the regional code and your 3 first digit then click on detail info switch you'll have the adress and a goole map to see where is the nearset CO

It's something strange here.. the street address shows that's 4450 DUDEMAINE MONTREAL, but on their map it shows that its at Vieux Port.

Thanks for the info.
