Inspired by this thread »USG 100 and 2 public IP (one M:1, second 1:1 NAT) I've made few WAN-to-LAN speed tests.
Test setup: Linux vsftpd server on WAN2 side, linux client on LAN side.
Router under test: USG200 with 2.11(AQU.0) firmware.
Test scenario: FTP download of one zip compressed ISO image.
Test case #1: No BWM, No IDP, No AV, No AppPatrol, No ADP, (No CF, No AS)
EDIT: Just to clarify, the 80 Mbps above may just be my physical test scenario setup limits (HDD/PCI throughput, 100Mbit LAN setup)
Test case #2: No BWM, No IDP, No AV, Yes AppPatrol, No ADP, (No CF, No AS)
Test case #3: No BWM, No IDP, Yes AV, No AppPatrol, No ADP, (No CF, No AS)
Test case #4: No BWM, Yes IDP, No AV, No AppPatrol, No ADP, (No CF, No AS)
Test case #5: No BWM, No IDP, No AV, No AppPatrol, Yes ADP, (No CF, No AS)
Test case #6: No BWM, Yes IDP, Yes AV, Yes AppPatrol, Yes ADP, (No CF, No AS)
Test case #7: No BWM, Yes IDP, Yes AV, No AppPatrol, No ADP, (No CF, No AS)
The USG 200 Data sheet is saying:
Firewall Throughput: 150 Mbps
UTM Throughput (AV+IDP+Firewall): 40 Mbps
To summ it up, USG200 seems to be delivering to advertised specs in UTM area (IDP+AV).
However AppPatrol is a killer and degrades the speeds significantly!
Note: These tests are intentionally on one session type transfers. I'd like to see a multiple sessions throughput tests to see how things stack up. |

Play around with it, the user interface in App Patrol is horrible (both CLI and web) and needs to look more like the Firewall rules. |

similar results with USG300, so this will be not a bug, just a feature  |
