It's not open source, but MS doesn't charge a licensing fee for it. It's also superior to Flash (Flash in it's current form anyway) in every way imaginable minus ubiquity. Microsoft even worked with Novell to make sure it was developed for the Linux platform. (Moonlight)<br><br>Silverlight is absolutely a good direction for MS to take.]]></description>

Works great and logs in to Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, and Amazon video.<br><br>It works great with the PS3 and works pretty well with the DirecTV HR-21 boxes (the minor issues I've had I'm sure are related to the DTV box and the fact that that stuff is still "beta").<br><br>I even tested PlayOn with my Archos 5 over my wi-fi. I thought it was still Flash and I just assumed they created some sort of Flash proxy that would proxy the content to the DLNA device.<br><br>I've used other apps (like TVersity and Orb) that want to transcode everything and it destroys quality.]]></description>
