Doctor Olds : All I can say is that the program does work, but the settings change only lasts for a very short while so make your username and password very short/very easy to type.
hogwild : Hi everyone:

I have here a Speedstream 4200 from Bell. I have read through (quite) a few
of the unlocking and flashing instructions, and I'm not sure which is the best way for me to go.
I see a lot of clear info. on unlocking the 5200 but not so much the 4200.
Please forgive me if my searches missed it.

First of all, I'm confused when trying to identify which modem I have. THE MODEM LABEL reads:
"Part number: 060-D242-A58"
"IC: 267AJ-D242A58".

However, in the web interface, it reads:
"Config Part. No 003-y093-G05"
"004-D240-A3S".

Does this mean I have a D240 or D242?

I would like to config. the modem so that all menus possible will show, and I would like to access said menus
without having to resort to having an html links sheet available.
Do I need to flash, or can the all this be done simply by unlocking?

I am quite comfortable with either, though I could use instructions.

Thanks very much in advance

hogwild
