[POLL] File Sharing Programs - 2009 Member ChoiceWith a heavy filesharing heart (» The Pirate Bay Found Guilty [354] comments), I give you the 2009 Filesharing Poll. Wikipedia defines file sharing as the exchange of files over computer networks, and peer-to-peer (P2P) networks in particular. |

Torrent2exe turns your torent into an .exe » torrent2exe.com/beta/How does it work? Now it is really simple to download data via BitTorrent protocol with Torrent2exe.com. 1. Enter the torrent file URL or upload the torrent file to the server. 2. The download of the small program starts automatically. 3. This program will automatically do the rest of the job. After you launch the program, your data starts to be downloaded. 4. Dont shut the program down after the download is complete. Leave it running for a couple of hours to seed downloaded data. Thus the data will be transmitted to other users. Your access to downloading other files can be denied if you dont allow other users to download data from your PC. |

Thanks for the poll!
I can't tell you how many of these I've tried, seen, etc. over the years, and I finally decided that I'd stick with uTorrent. I don't use it that much anymore. When I do use it, I'm able to pickup a lot of live concerts from groups that allow taping, so it's nice to have that capability.
Edit: clarity |

I picked Azureus/Vuze, Shareaza, and WinMX. I rarely download anything from the last two, while a lot of what I get is from torrents.
I also picked other because I have a Usenet account with Giganews, and that is my primary way of getting multimedia online. |

Soulseek mainly, where you can find just about anything that's off the beaten track. Also use private hubs on DC++ to stay connected to a few like-minded friends. |

When I need to torrent a legit download, in most cases I will use Opera's built in torrent downloader.
Nice poll and very informative. Thanks. |

I don't see Transmission listed - it, along with Azureus is probably the most commonly used torrent client on the OS X platform. I'm sure you've seen it listed amongst your torrent peers.
In the meantime - I vote "Other" - Transmission. |

None, but not because I was an isolated child though.
I use none because that is such an old fashioned way to get things it's not even funny!! |
