Friday on the way home I checked the TXDOT traffic on my cellphone on the way home. I do not think I have ever seen so much red on that map. My phone actually was passed around the whole van for everyone to see.

Yesterday we decided to stay home and read. I am very glad we did. There was a report on street flooding and it was less than a mile from here. Water was at least 2 feet high in places on Mason road. We had a couple of pools in our backyard. I knew we had a couple collection areas back there, now I know exactly where they are.

Our street flooded and several of the neighbors' cars got water inside of them. My dad's truck was parked on the street and avoided getting water by just the slightest of margins (the water line was already past the bottom of the door on the outside).
