Ditto. I've had service since I can't remember (at least mid-2005) and since the first month it's been great. One of few services I pretty much have had no complaints about.

Got the final termination notice today with October 20th 2009 as the day of death. Guess it is time to decide, LOL.
I can't believe no other company has made an offer for us.
(besides the $50 Voicepulse Mail in rebate)

I got the same notice. Same date. I have already initiated my port out to Voipo, and it's scheduled to happen on Wednesday.
Interesting that they state that you must place your order with port request by September 29, 2009 to ensure sufficient time to transfer your number.

I guess their porting department will be pretty (well, relatively) busy...

I don't think i will wait that long. I have it narrowed down to Voicepulse, Phonepower and Voipo. When did you start the initial request?

I just received my second letter from AT&T Callvantage stating "All AT&T Callvantage services nationwide will be discontinued on or after October 20, 2009."

I put in my request on 7/14; Voipo submitted it on 7/15. Two weeks after submission doesn't seem so bad. I'll update after the port is complete.

Just a confirmation to pluskey's post; I also got the final notice today saying ATT CV will be discontinued on Oct. 20, 2009 and the last day to order for porting purposes is Sept. 29, 2009.

I have yet to receive anything from AT&T stating that their CallVantage service is being discontinued. I guess I"ll just wait and play it be ear. When or if I have to switch, I"m really thinking about going to the Verizon Wireless voip service. It looks pretty appealing, and costs about the same monthly. The equipment is a bit expensive to purchase. But, we already have them for a cell provider. Has anyone else checked out Verizon Wireless?

Ask NY Tel about Verizon's Hub service. If you want to keep your phone#, my strong advice is that you heed the letters the rest of us received and initiate your port-out by Sept 29. AT&T says 'on or after Oct 20' they will shut the service down. Who knows how long after that date they'll keep it 'alive' for people who haven't ported out yet? IMO, no one will have CallVantage dialtone on November 1.

I also got the letter stating the October 20th and Sept 29 dates.... Currently porting to Vonage....

Got the same letter today. I completed my LNP to VoicePulse on 7/17.

Sbrav77, the letter stated the discontinue was for everyone across the nation for Oct. 20.

It's not that I don't believe you. I was just stating I am yet to receive any notice or phone call or voice mail from AT&T. I would think they would send out a notice at the very least.

You should receive it any day now
