| [Equipment] Unlocking DVG-1120M? So... since many of us are going to be left with these devices, a nice definitive guide to unlocking it would be beneficial. It would be nice to keep them out of the landfill. Unfortunately, LMGTFY isn't the answer. Anybody know of a guide that works? -- Looks like Reverend Wright got his wish - God Damn America. |

| reply to nunya I found a topic over in Voxilla that seems to answer the question - »forum.voxilla.com/other-hardware···529.html
It links to a firmware that converts to 1120s.
Haven't tried it, but based on the lack of replies to the instructions, it must be OK or there would be somebody griping about it.

1 edit | I know if you own a WRT54GP2A-AT you can open up a browser and type »youripaddress/Voice_adminPage.htm However I don't know the password. According to this link »aaltonen.us/2005/11/21/voip-hack···leashed/ the password also resets due to the function of the TA;s mac address and the currect time. However, I'm sure there is some root password that works on these routers. I would like to be able to move this TA over to a BYOD service. I wonder if you flash with ddwrt or tomato will it remove the lock |

| said by watts3000:... I wonder if you flash with ddwrt or tomato will it remove the lock I have no idea about the linky - the OP's topic was on the D-Link DVG 1120M.
Rather than hijacking the OP's topic you might want to post your own new topic with your model number in the title so those familiar with your Linksys will be more likely to see it and possibly provide an answer for you. -- The greatest dangers to liberty lurk in insidious encroachment by men of zeal, well-meaning but without understanding. -- Justice Louis D. 1 edit | reply to nunya Once my phone is ported to my new provider, I post a update if this works

 | reply to nunya Today, my Port was complete, so I re-flashed the DVG-1120M and it worked for the most part.
The only issue with this firmware, is there is no option to configure your date/time.
I also had an issue with caller id name not displaying, unsure if this was a provider issue or a firmware issue.
Callerid: 0/0 12:00 AM 1xxxxxxxxxx
Today, I ordered a Linksys PAP2T-NA, and once it arrives will throw out my D-Link -- »www.reverse.net |

FisamoPremium join:2004-02-20 Apex, NC | Thanks for the update. I haven't initiated a port yet (therefore, not ready to attempt flashing the ATA), and it's good to know that it works for current customers on the recent firmware. |
|
 | OK time for a dumb newbie question.
Why would I want to unlock my DVG-1120M?
What would I do with it once I unlocked it?
I guess -- hook it up to some other SIP/VoIP provider???
Please help educate my lame ass. |

| Keep it out of a landfill, use it on an asterisk system, use it with another provider, give it to a friend or family member for free sip calls, sell it on ebay, paste googly eyes on it and call it Shirley. -- Looks like Reverend Wright got his wish - God Damn America. |

OK, I can agree with all of that except the last one--you don't have to unlock it to paste googly eyes on it. |
