[ Classes] Ret pally rotation

I recently did the duel spec for my pally and decided against better judgement to do dps

with my spec, and some pretty bad gear, i was pulling almost 3k on trash and 2.5k on bosses, in order to improve those numbers i need two things, much better gear (wearing a mix of dps, tank and spellpower for this spec) and a solid rotation

my buffs im using is blessing of kings and seal of blood

my rotation is something close to:
consecration, judgement of light, crusader strike, divine storm, and exorcism

is that right for a rotation?
and what about buffs?
character name ryoki on madoran
in case the current gear scares you i have a much much better set of holy gear, this is my first attempt and ret at 80

Step 1: Look at your keyboard
Step 2: Place the area above your right eye brow onto the "1" key.
Step 3: Proceed to move your head from left to right in a turning motion over the keys.
Step 4: When the *boss is dead wash forehead and rejoice

*This also works for any other classes besides Deathknights and other ret pallys who have not mastered this skill

Nah im J/K man, Srry for the smart ass answer gl with your retadin though.

I would recommend judging first before anything else. After that it doesn't really matter. Just use abilities as soon as they come off of cooldown.

I would also judge wisdom instead of light. That way someone will have to throw heals on you from time to time. This helps with your mana.

I think you should use Blessing of Might instead of Kings on yourself. Might will improve your melee AP much more than Kings, which means that your spellpower will also be higher than with Kings.

Yes, Seal of Blood is best for raiding.

Command is better for everything else.

unless they added a comarable talent to the ret tree ( I am dual Holy/Prot) Retadins no longer gain mana via heals. Spiritual Attunement is now deep prot. This makes judging Wisdom an even better idea, so that you gain more mana.

Not true...command is practically worthless now so the "experts" at EJ suggest Blood/mart for both.

I believe the best rotation is to start with (per EJ): CS > HoW > Judgement > DS > Consecration > Exorcism > Holy Wrath (if mana allows).

Not sure why they are saying you can use HoW (Hammer of Wrath) so early in rotation (it only works when target is under 20%). Maybe I am missing something.

Also, I have been playing around a bit and found that I get the debuffs (ex: RV) to proc better on the mobs when I CS, Judge, then DS. In this case, most 78-80 lvl mobs will be dead before I can use the other attacks.

That looks like priority rotation to me. As in, CS should be your first choice if available, if not, move to HoW, if that is not ready Judge, if that is not ready DS... and so on and so on.

I used to wait a sec for tank to agro a group then start with Divine Storm only because I was using the venture libram. The ret badge libram is worthless as you will almost never use Command in pve. The next best are either the PvP arena one or Libram of Radiance from Naxx.

Rotation: whatever is off cd

To note on gear:

You need to get as close to the expertise soft cap as you can without sacrificing str. Str is your biggest priority. I use Exp to gloves and wrist and 8exp+8hit gems to hit the soft cap. When I did my dps went through the roof. Crusader strike is considered a physical attack.

Spiritual Attunement has been made a deep prot talent so make sure that you get the new Glyph of Seal of Blood. 11% of the damage you do is returned as mana.

I believe it is Hit>Expertise in terms of priority (but don't gem for hit, it will come with gear).

I was reading the thread where that was stated. It was later clarified that HoW should be taken into the rotation only after target is less than 20percent.

Target over 20percent: CS > Judgement > DS > Consecration > Exorcism > Holy Wrath

Target under 20percent: CS > HoW > Judgement > DS > Consecration > Exorcism > Holy Wrath

This is according to EJ and I am just regurgitating.

Keep in mind that the above advice is concerning pve only. Pvp has some not so subtle differences.

Correct. Thanks for pointing that out.
