CRTC Posting comments re: TN7181 with your info included

What kind of worries me about all of this, is that peoples real names, email addresses and phone numbers are in some of these comments... ripe to be harvested.

Is this normal that they'd publicize the personal details and contact info of those who speak out against Bell?

So far they've only begun posting those whose last name begin with 'A'.

Re: CRTC Posting comments re: TN7181

Someone should kindly point out re: the DNC fiasco that this type of information should not be published.

Publish the comments but mask the email/phone numbers.

'Publish the comments but mask the email/phone numbers.'

Exactly.

Now, what we've got here is a growing list of Bells enemies and their contact information.

I wonder who'd like to get hold of this list and oh say, cause random 'outages' for the complainers.

This whole thing stinks, real bad!

So I just informed a CRTC telephone rep verbally and informed him that if my telephone number ended up posted I would make a complaint to the privacy commissioner

I would suggest everyone do the same.

From what I am seeing, it does not appear they have even finished posting stuff yet.

A-E is up but not the rest of it

If THIS isn't proof that they no longer need to exist, I don't know what is...

I am n the phone with someone at the CRTC now, trying to get the hpone numbers, names and e-mail addresses removed form the public.

I suggest everyone else call and do the same.

Speaking with a Chantel.

Just got off the phone with the CRTC and she said it said in there that all names, phone numbers and e-mail addresses of people that commented on this would be made public!

Does anyone have the original link, I want to see if that is true.

Who's the consumer advocate for the Toronto star again?

Time to raise some hell.

Found this on on their site.

Your personal information on our website

Note that all information you provide as part of a public process, except information granted confidentiality, whether sent by postal mail, facsimile, e-mail or through the Commission’s website at www.crtc.gc.ca, becomes part of a publicly accessible file and will be posted on the Commission’s website. This information includes your personal information, such as your full name, e-mail address, postal/street address, telephone and facsimile number(s), and any other personal information you provide.
So pretty much if you make a stand against anything your full name, address, e-mail address will be made public.

Who in their right mind would subject themselves in this day and age to something like that?

Too bad no one ever reads what they are agreeing to before clicking "I Agree"

This just proves it

It's called being smart with your personal information.

I simply submitted my name and email address, nothing more.

On a side note, I have not read one reply that was for the caps & terif.

If they go ahead and let this pass anyway they are not looking out for the best interests of the public.

I should have posted my comments under a fake name.

But then your comment likely wouldn't have counted.
You could be from another country for all they know.

That's not the point.

I don't think it's very wise to publish lists and lists of information that can be accessed by telemarketers, identity theives and so on.
