[BT] Who is the top seeder?

I was just curious what is the most someone has seen uploaded (total upload) on a tracker (where information is tracked). This could be for any type of seeding and both public or private trackers.

Reply with the amount uploaded and what tracker.

Chugging along on 2x 6016/768k DSL Extreme DSL lines and one 6016/768 ATT DSL DIrect line as well as one 16mb/2mb Charter cable line for a combined total of just over 32 meg download and 3 meg up (after overhead). yay!

lol, why would you want to be a top uploader on a public site?

126 Gigs on some site.
no warez, mostly TV shows.

overseeding is just as bad as being stingy.

I'm calling out it's obvious BS(on Pop N fresh) and meant as a joke. I mean who would want to admit this on a public forum??

not hard to do with seedbox or cheating utility.

I typically let torrents seed until they are a little over a 1.0 ratio, then I remove them, unless they are not very well seeded, in which case I will let them run longer.

The largest single torrent I've ever downloaded was around 13-14 GB. It took several days to completely download, then about 2 weeks to seed to a 1.0 ratio.

Sure, not hard via cheating, via a seedbox? Uhm... That is a 4.4 megabytes/sec (or almost 40 megabits/sec) upload average for almost 4 years strait. Yeah I would like to know what seedbox will let you do that.

Yeah and I am sure there are plenty of machines using SSD's or 4+ drive raid arrays which are required to be able to do random reads over 60 megabits as well.

No, unless its a small file that sits in ram, try seeding at 60+ megabits off a single hard-drive. You will fail.

BT is extremely I/O heavy due to the randomness of the reads.

If you meant was I being sarcastic when I said 'plenty of machines' then yes I was as I doubt you will find many people with that level of hardware that run BT off it.

The bigger the torrent the harder it is to seed because this randomness or heavy file access can slow you down a lot
utorrent seem to handle large torrent much better then any other client i have used
with bitcomet i have not seen anything higher then 500kb/sec for large torrent of 10gb and upward.
it is a challenge to seed large torrent say 37gb, 50gb, 100gb, 137gb... since it will drain you of your computer resources i have a 2ghz athlon and with 37gb torrent, uploading at 20mbit uses about 40-50 percent of cpu and the hard drive is constantly blinking red. anything else you do on computer will be much slower as a result. seeding ain't fun.

a flash drive of 32gb, 64gb, 128gb, 256gb would be ideal for seeding purpose but very costly. this noise due to magnetic head moving in many location and heavy hd usage can drain electricty and wear computer down a lot. this can get expensive, an expensive hobby. i'll just stick with hd for now until it is toast

There is no way to be a top seeder unless you cheat using seedbox and most of them limit your ability to seed as well like set how percentage you can seed and how big the torrent you can seed. seedbox=not practical for seeding purpose. its a ripoff. its still better to have your own 100mbit connection. seedbox is a poor man's connection sharing a faster connection to help those who have slow broadband because too expensive or not a viable option for the average user.

Yeah SSD is definitely the best way to go/would work a lot better. I use rtorrent and with a 8 drive raid5 array it is possible for me to do around 80-90 megabits/sec seeding over 1TB of data but that is about the limit of the machine I/O wise. Seeding is not CPU heavy (atleast not with rtorrent) as it never uses more than 4-5% of one core on a core 2 duo Q6600.

You have a much faster computer we are talking next generation actually many generation away

This is a dinosaur but its ok for most application
I am on ATA100 which already uses about 10 percent of cpu when the HD is accessed

With SATA, it would go down to 1 or 2 percent

160gb, 7200 rpm, seagate baracuda 2mb cache

Many ppl use laptop today and performance wise not better then ancient desktop.
