I have used my webspace (Sprynet domain owned by Earthlink) for years and have never had an issue. I will give Earthlink credit for that. My service went from Sprynet to Mindspring to Earthlink, and has been going strong for over 10 years with no problems that I have noticed. I've had many more outage problems with my cable internet providers in the past (Charter and Time Warner). I'm still dealing with a problem with Time Warner. Earthlink's webspace was always my trusted backup and now this? So sad. I do wish that when they have an outage like this that somehow all pages would be directed to an "official" outage message. Instead, the end user just gets some generic error message which includes an email address that isn't working either.
Here is the message I get:
"Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, support@mindspring.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log."
There has got to be a better way to handle such an outage. Anyone heard any information on when things might be fixed?? |
