Re: Companies are all the same. What we need are our own lawmakers. Actually, no, what we need are more educated and involved voters. As it stands, many people only seriously consider candidates with the biggest media presence, and that translates into the candidates with the most money to spend. And who is in the best position to fund these candidates? Businesses, of course, which makes these candidates dependent on their financiers.
So the trick is to figure out a way to create informed, open-minded voters. Do that, and you'll go a long way toward solving the problem. |

He didn't get elected, but he managed to put a couple of issues in play that both Dems and Reps were staying away from.
