1 edit | The 3347W-006 is a BellSouth customized model that was supplied to its business DSL customers. I think it only does ADSL1 and is only 802.11B with WEP, but it been awhile since I have owned one of these models.
The 3347NWG-006 is a BellSouth customized model that was supplied to its business DSL customers. I does ADSL1, ADSL2, and ADSL2+. It does 802.11B and 802.11G with all the good flavors of encryption.
Need more info for the 3347-02.
There is a 3347-02-1006 model that is for the BellSouth/AT&T Southeast region. It is a replacement for the 3347NWG-006 and does all the same things.
There is a 3347-02-1002 model that is for all of the AT&T regions except for the BellSouth/AT&T Southeast region. I think it is pretty much the same as our 3347-02-1006 model. Hardware wise it is exactly the same as our 3347-02-1006 model. Some of the default settings like the VPI/VCI are different because AT&T and BellSouth set things up different. We use 8/35 and they use 0/35 for VPI/VCI settings.
I have heard it said that the firmware can be crossed flashed between the 1006 and 1002 models.
If you live in Chicago, IL, are an AT&T DSL customer, and are looking to buy a Motorola Netopia 3347 Series DSL Wireless Gateway than you should get a 3347-02-1002 as this is the model that AT&T currently supplies and supports for all AT&T regions except for the AT&T Southeast region.
.
They have the one you need (3347-02-1002) for sale at the AT&T Store for $99.00 or you search eBay for one.
