The Bell sales rep knew all about the VOIP "problem". He laughed, as naturally as, "I drop the rock, you below will get hurt".
For people who needs to stay away from Bell, the following arrangement works : Use Fido cellphone for voice, use Acanac (& dryloop) for DSL, and use X-lite softphone (acanac) if you need to call US & other provinces frequently. Fido cell phone will cost about the same as a landline + voice service from Bell. But Fido has a honest billing service, a clear pricing offering. Very straight forward. Bell behaviour is NOT like that. |

| I am not sure if Bell purposely do something to disturb the VoIP based phone services. Indeed, many people prefer to use the cost effective Voip instead of classics Bell landlines. They may loose some money from phone service, but they get them back from DSL and Internet service trough ISP providers.
I think, this Bell rep just means - any Voip service may be not as shiny as their analog one
The source of problem was somewhere in proxies/servers VoIP chain. I will have more info next week.
Thanks. |
