| "Line noise" that isn't there
Help.
I have AT&T DSL, and back in December I experienced two solid weeks when my DSL connection just plain didn't exist. I called AT&T tech support, and they said they detected noise on the line. But when I brought a tech guy actualy out to my apartment to test the line, he said that the signal was just fine (oh, I still had to pay him the hundred bucks for the service call). But the phone techs still said there was noise on the line. After a couple weeks of them arguing back and forth, suddenly the DSL signal picked up again, and all was well.
My DSL just dropped again. I REALLY can't afford another tech visit to confirm the line is actually fine, but I also REALLY can't wait two weeks for this to fix on its own accord.
What I mean by the "DSL signal is not there" is: the front of my modem shows 3 lights on -- the fourth light, the one that says "internet," is not working. So my signal is there, it's just not connecting to the actual internet. Same as before.
