Thanks for the response.
Say if something is to happen my router, and I want to go back to using RR's gateway (I can install it myself, if no other configurations are needed, i.e. plug and play using ethernet cable), except for the 5 dollars/month, will I be charged some other fees?

That is something that I cannot answer. But the router that you bought is a good one and you should not have any troubles getting it set up. Don't let them talk you out of your plan. I have been using my own routers for a very long time with no troubles whatsoever.

I called them and they said they would need to come and configure it if my router goes bad and and I wanna use theirs. (fees applied).
Is there anyway I can test a router before using it? Can I plug the router into the Ambit Gateway I have and test it?
Also, if I plug the router into the phone modem, would I have a decrease in performance when somebody's on the phone?
