Outrageously Slow DSL

Currently am paying for 3 Mbp/s and am getting .43.

I have tried unplugging the router and using only the modem, then I tried getting a whole new modem, nothing seems to be helping. It is this way across three computers.

I am using AT&T, in Akron Ohio. I just want to be able to use the internet again.

Were you looking for help?

You might get some ideas from »SBC DSL FAQ FAQs as to how to troubleshoot and how to get information etc.

I have a modem not listed in there. Motorola 2210.

Under checking connection everything is pass.

"Your Throughput

Download = 197.41 kbps
Upload = 436.82 kbps"

Except I'm paying for 3 mbps.

EDIT: Now my Download is "14.10 kbps"

This is even after updating from my old Speedstream 5100 to the new Motorola.

I don't know that modem.

»AT&T Southeast Forum FAQ seems to have a lot of info on that modem.

Receive signal to noise and attenuation tend to be key things to look at. Also, testing with your modem hooked to the NID can help isolate problems within your house from outside.
