Re: [Notebooks] Need a laptop for wow

not world of warcraft that is overkill

you can get a nice 15 inch laptop with a 8000-9000 series video card that will run wow just fine at medium-high settings for 700-800 dollars on sale.
Yep, if you spring for a grand, you will easily get more than notebook enough!

As was mentioned, the biggest single feature would be to opt for whatever gives you the best graphics engine. Any notebook in the $700 - $1k range will have adequate CPU power, drive space, DVD burner, etc., so I would look at graphics card and screen quality.

The other thought of course is this: What form-factor will suit you best? 13.3 - 14.1 inch screens travel real nice, but if you aren't lugging it around (as in, it is in a car), then you may want to opt for a 15.4" to even a 17" screen for the added "real-estate".
