chuckkk : AT&T (Cingular) Killed the roaming ability of my old GSM/Gait phones years ago. Seems that they had a whole bunch of "nationwide no roaming" accounts like mine, and got tired of eating the costs. It is possible in certain areas, if your phone is "provisioned" to do so.

anon : My AT&T cell phone service has been down for two days because local cell phone tower is damaged. Being in a major city, could AT&T allow users to roam onto other networks, e.g., Verizon, until the tower is fixed? I am curious because if I did have my copper line, I would have no phone service.

Thanks
