NwkEWR : Have you reported this issue to Fibertel? I wouldn't be surprised if the problem is caused by overloaded nodes, but it could be something else, if I were you I'd request a tech visit to test and confirm your issues, but only after having inquired from neighbours as to whether they are experiencing similar high latency or not.
--
BEWARE: "We can't expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism, until they awaken one day to find that they have Communism." - Nikita Khrushchev -

anon : Hello all,

My wife and I have been playing World of Warcraft for a few years now, and have recently moved from the UK to Rosario in Argentina. We subscribe to the Fibertel 640 Cable Service.

For about a week or so we have been experiencing huge latencies between 7pm and Midnight Mondays to Thursdays and during most of the weekend. Our notmal latencies are about 300ms but these are now in the range of 5000ms to 15000ms making the game totally unplayable.

Here is a traceroute to the WoW server made whilst playing with the high latencies:-

Tracing route to 80-239-149-127.customer.teliacarrier.com [80.239.149.127]

over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms

2 25 ms 45 ms 18 ms 1-171-246-190.fibertel.com.ar [190.246.171.1]

3 * * * Request timed out.

4 * * * Request timed out.

5 * * * Request timed out.

6 * * * Request timed out.

7 * * * Request timed out.

8 * * * Request timed out.

9 * * * Request timed out.

10 94 ms 215 ms 229 ms 76C-G10-V621-INT.mrse.com.ar [200.63.145.253]

11 15 ms 22 ms 22 ms So7-0-0-0-grtbuecu1.red.telefonica-wholesale.net [84.16.9.233]

12 93 ms 99 ms 72 ms So6-1-0-0-grtlurem2.red.telefonica-wholesale.net [213.140.43.170]

13 137 ms 268 ms 296 ms xe1-2-0-0-grtmiabr5.red.telefonica-wholesale.net [84.16.15.14]

14 341 ms 328 ms 323 ms Xe0-1-0-0-grtwaseq4.red.telefonica-wholesale.net [213.140.36.233]

15 306 ms 377 ms 339 ms ash-bb1-link.telia.net [213.248.69.77]

16 415 ms 446 ms 427 ms prs-bb1-link.telia.net [80.91.251.99]

17 412 ms 479 ms 550 ms ffm-bb1-pos6-0-0.telia.net [213.248.64.109]

18 266 ms 268 ms 262 ms ffm-b4-link.telia.net [80.91.249.237]

19 * * * Request timed out.

20 * * * Request timed out.

21 * * * Request timed out.

22 * * * Request timed out.

23 * * * Request timed out.

24 * * * Request timed out.

25 * * * Request timed out.

26 * * * Request timed out.

27 * * * Request timed out.

28 * * * Request timed out.

29 * * * Request timed out.

30 * * * Request timed out.

Trace complete.

Do you have any sugessions of what can be going wrong here and what our course of action might be???

Any help would be appreciated.
