 [Equipment] Innomedia box freed from Net2Phone - here's how I di

I do not know if this is the correct forum, but I saw a lot of people have had trouble with this and I wanted to help out:

I was a Sunrocket Customer (and lead generator - up to $75 a sale - no wonder they went belly-up) and after they crashed, continued with Teleblend. Well Teleblend seemed unable to cope with the influx of customers and issues and I was fed up with them (seems had I waited, things would have improved), so I switched to Net2Phone.

Now I am selling my own business VOIP service and therefore see no need to continue paying Net2Phone, so I wanted to program my Innomedia MTA6328-2RE to use my SIP servers. However, as many people have complained, Net2Phone did a pretty good job of locking down the device. Here is how I did it:

1. Configured my router to block all external internet access from the MTA (disconnecting the internet connection from the router will accomplish the same thing).
2. Pressed the "reset" button on the MTA for 10 seconds, rebooted the router, and pressed the "reset" button again.
3. Used "Getif" to connect to the "WAN" ip of the MTA and reset the password at SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3354.1.3.1.1.3.2.0 and I also browsed the SNMP data for the line that contained the Net2Phone SIP servers and set that to an empty string ("") - I do not know how necessary that last part was. NOTE: I noticed that I had to reset and reboot the MTA several times, before the SNMP change actually took effect.
4. Rebooted the MTA.
5. Logged in from the "LAN" IP (in my case 192.168.99.1) with my new password.
6. Installed the Sunrocket/Teleblend V3.0.75 firmware.
7. Rebooted the MTA, reset the MTA and rebooted again.
8. Logged in to MTA with admin/slapshot (I think - or else it was admin/admin).
9. Went to IP Network -> Provisioning Setting and disabled provisioning.
10. Went to VoIP->SIP Proxy and configured the MTA to use my server.
11. Rebooted the MTA.
12. Success!

That's a lot of extra work.
User = admin or Admin
pass = n2p or N2P or Net2phone

then sfter default it's Admin and Password. I don't recall if it is all lower case????

I've already reconfiged all our innos so I can't check.
It's real easy to default and reload the old firmware.
Ours were never locked down and figuring the pass was a breeze.

Basically, you just need to log in using telnet to grab your credentials then log into the webpage and reload the inno firmware.

Good luck

Now, if someone can figure out how to unlock the MTA 3328-2Re unit. This unit is widely available, but I'munable to find any unlocking procedure anywhere on the internet. I can telnet into the unit, but cannot change the provisioning server information (net2phone). Can login into the GUI interface, but there is no VOIP settings available thru the GUI.

Funny, I and many others have posted the directions many times.
You need to roll the firmware back to the innomedia firmware.
Do a search on the forums.

I can use some help. I have been scouring for a few hours now.

I have an INNOMEDIA MTA3328-2R, and no matter what I do I *Can't* Telnet into it.

None of the passwords work, and when I tried @ the Linux Command line.......

snmpset -v 2c -c private ip-address SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.3354.1.3.1.1.3.2.0 s newpassword

I received "No response" error.

Trying to access the MTA from a web browser, I get:

"403 Forbidden Access"

I am not a Newbie, nor am I lazy. I researched and my fingers are ready to fall off and my eyes fall out.

Does it sound like someone bricked this or it is super locked by some unknown VOIP company that someone programmed it to?

Any suggestions welcomed.

Thank you.

What firmware did you brick it with?

You may want to move this thead out of the teleblend forum so others can see it.
