| Gadgetry, gadgetry. Quite honestly, I'd prefer a lower-priced version of the Blackberry Storm over the iPhone.
Why?
I don't do e-mail (which is why I'm not hep on most Blackberries anyway) on a phone, and I'd much rather do SMS messaging (as opposed to MMS), and, thanks to onerous SMS rates, I'd do that using PC-based messaging clients (such as Yahoo Messenger) as opposed to ANY phone-based SMS/MMS client.
Also, I just plain hate iTunes; putting iTunes on a phone merely increases the loathe-factor.
Then there's VZW's network coverage, which I have NEVER had an issue with, locally or anywhere else.
Lastly, the Storm not only supports MP3 playback (directly), it can actually sync with a PC (wired OR wireless). My quibble with the Storm is the price; it's not as expensive as the iPhone, but it's not cheap, either. (The biggest quibble I have with VZW these days is that the Storm is actually the least-expensive phone they have with all the features I actually want and would use, with the MOTOROKR officially dead.) |
