Re: Add an image fetcher?

I don't have Flash Player on Fx and I go to a thread here with some stupid YouTube crap embedded and I get a notice at the top of Fx about needing to install a plugin for Flash Player.
1: Install flash.
2: Install the flashblock extension.

You still won't see any flash. But you will no longer be bothered by the "need to install flash" notices.

If one does not want to see the message at all it is as easy as:

Open about:config and filter to

plugins.hide_infobar_for_missing_plugin

Set it to true

Well it may block all missing plugin requests a user can click the "More Information" button then Media tab and determine what they need.

While not exactly an image FETCHER, how about an image SEARCH?

I know there are times when I'd really like to be able to find an image that I know someone else has posted. It gets very frustrating and I usually give up rather than find what I'm looking for.

How about you actually make an effort to back up your ridiculous complaints? It's shorter than the post box, which has a fixed width. 640x480 users are still screwed, and 800x600 users are still fine. It's no different than before.

I think he's new to the thread and didn't realize that the one who really blew the margins was Matt See Profile as an example. He removed it after people got the jist. Gbcue, like he always does, trolled it up and quoted the post which has the huge image in it.

Thus, the blown margins.

Oh, that must be it. I forgot about that page of this thread because the topic died two months ago.

I was not trolling. I was simply quoting text.

Most accurate way to not get double-speak.

A good thing in this case; otherwise I wouldn't have been motivated to write my style (CSS for Stylish: »Re: is picture link allowed) to automatically resize large hot-linked images down to the typical BBR large thumbnail size (for anyone using Firefox, though it--the CSS--could work in any browser).

Also, there's a Firefox add-on called Rehost Image (»https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/9221) which would/could be useful if BBR supported ftp for uploading images (which is not something I'm suggesting--just saying there's another alternative to consider for "image fetching").

I've made an image fetcher available at »upload.removed.us for anyone interested. It will automatically fetch images from any URL and then provide you with links to the images. The images will remain hosted indefinitely on a multi-core server on a 100mbit connection.

I'm not profiting at all from this - no ads or anything. Have fun.

Does this fetch process re-size large images down to smaller images for you?

It creates a thumbnail as well as hosts the original photo.

That picture isn't the cause of your blown margins -- note how there's easily 600+ pixels of empty space to the left.

Something's wrong with your browser.

I'm browsing at about 825px wide and there is no scrolling.
