Blown margins are the least of problems associated with hot-linked images (though the most visually obvious, when the image is too large to "fit"). It would be a trivial matter for BBR to resize (as in, control the display size of) hot-linked images automatically, too; they simply don't.

Another problem would be those webmasters that change the htaccess so hotlinked images show something vulgar such as goatse.
