[Other] Broadxent / Creative Firmware

I have a pile of older Broadxent/Creative DSL modems I'm working on that I acquired.

The model # is 8012U.

They train up just fine, but i can't do PPPoE authentication through a known working router that's setup to do so.

So I'm thinking myabe a Firmware upg. could help, it at least can't hurt.

I have contacted Broadxent through their online contact form, and have received no reply, but it's only been a few days.

I have Googled for hours looking for this, and nothing that links to anything still in existence.
The main problem is Broadxent's downloads page is busted, and the download links given are also broken.

Anyone have this archived anywhere? Or know what the last F/W ver. was?

Thx.

Re: [Other] Broadxent / Creative Firmware

Wanted to give an update so that hopefully those that have this problem in the future will be able to solve it. As this was also affecting my Versa modem as well.
In fact the only modems that would work were QWest's branded actiontec modems.

I was able to fix this by changing the encapsulation mode from VC?MUX to LLC/SNAP Bridge mode.

VC/MUX used to work no more than a few months ago, but apparently QWest changed it, despite the fact that they didn't know why it was working in the 1st place.

I'm on an IP Packet line, IE. Ethernet over Fiber.
So this won't affect those that are ATM only.

However, it does affect those that are dual mode ATM/Ethernet.

Thx.
