In most situations the combined cost of those are more than broadband.
That's what eventually got me to switch. I did the math and realized the cost of my second phone line plus the cost of having dialup was a little bit more than what I'd be paying for cable.
I was paying $67.00/Mo for POTS and DSL. I dropped the POTS, and got Dry Loop DSL for $19.99/Mo. Moved the Landline # to my CELL, which is all I ever used for voice anyway.
Much cheaper all in all! Can't see anyone going to dialup, at least not for financial reasons.
