I guess it is economy. However, $20 for less than 1 mb/s download + $50 for expanded cable is a bum deal. Are there any better deals in zipcode 70810? I have seen fiberedge TV and internet for $50/month in Gonzales area.
Not that I know of. $20 is a steal for those speeds. I remember many years ago paying $20 for a 56k connection.

I do agree on the cable being too high, I signed up more than a year ago when DishNetwork had their HD only package special running. $43 a month after taxes for a ton of HD channels (including Cinemax) with their DVR, plus I had $100 rebate and a $50 off two bills, free equipment and installation, and 3 months free of all the HBO/Starz HD channels. It was a deal I couldn't pass up and Cox couldn't match it.
But *unlike* DISH, Cox *DOESN'T* lock you into a contract for TWO YEARS!
And should hard times hit you and you decide to kick DISH to the curb, theres a nice fat ETF waiting for you!
Yep.. but I knew Cox wasn't going to offer me a package comparable to what I have and a DVR like they have. It's nice to be able to watch 2 separate things in any room and record three streams at once. USB HD's for extra external storage is nice. So no issues locking me in for 2 years.

Let the numbers speak,

option Expanded TV+Internet ETF 1year cost
---------- -------------------- ---- ---------
FiberEdge 50 100 600
DishFamily100+Dsl 20+20 100 480
Cox 50+20 0 840

If you already own your dish and reciever, there is no ETF with Dish network. Is anyone getting Fiberedge in 70810? Who offers the economical choice?
