| I've worked for insight for several years now and I believe they have had a standard $25 transfer fee for residential accounts that entire time. You said you worked at Insight business so perhaps it is different there. Either way I never saw $25 as being so bad. I mean maybe if you are moving down the hall do a different apt. and only have 1 tv it could be a bit of a rip off, but really for $25 a tech paid hourly by Insight ( or a contractor) will come to your new residence and do any work required to get your services running as they were at your previous residence. Which often includes running a new wire from the house to the pole or underground pedestal, running or replacing outlets, new splitters, and then activating you equipment, ho0king it up properly which may be simple to some people but plugging in a modem to a pc and a DVR to a high def set is way over some people heads. Very often these jobs can take hours. I just dont see the price as being that bad. On a typical transfer add up the cost of employee wages, and new equipment costs and it can be quite a value I would think. Given I am going on average from my experience. The work and equipment will vary from job to job, Some need more and some need less. Either way I don't know what Dish network, Direct T.v., Windstream, or Verizon etc. etc but I would think Insight is competitive wth them | |
