Re: [TDPH] Self-Nominations - Volunteers Needed! said by lilhurricane:Anyone else like to nominate themselves? This is the place I have a million excuses not to jump into the picture, with two small kids, hunting for houses, possibly a new job that I won't say anything about at this point (need for it to develop a little more before i say anything about it) but that will be very time consuming. I guess there will always be an one excuse or another.
But I think the big picture is team, and the hope, the hope that all of us give to each other. Sort of like a lottery ticket, you know chances are low, but when you buy it you feel hope and start to make plans for what you will do with the winnings.
Let me not ramble any longer.
My name is Slava and I was the first chairman of project hope, following me have been some exception chairmen.Feels like it has been a life time ago. I still feel that i have more to contribute, so I would like to throw my hat in and nominate myself as Chairman.
I truly hope that I will not be the only one running for this position, in fact I would love to see multiple people running for each position and letting our members choose who they feel comfortable with. I love polls and I love creating votes. I think this was my trade mark the first time around and you can expect more of this if you choose me.
Anyways, as a friend so often says, "Game On".
Thank you, Slava

I have mentioned that I want back into the game as Chairman, but what will make me a good Chairman? Like every election it is important to state what will make me a value to the cause and the project and what I can bring to the table.
For one I have experience, I was on board with this project from day one, there was a lot of excitement in the beginning. We had our bumps and bruises but we survived that first year. Since then the project has continued to flourish and it is evident. A good indicator of this is Project Hope, currently in the 10th place on our team for stats in WCG. Before TSC ended, Project hope was #1 and in it only improved from phase one when it finished in the #3 spot.
What I want to bring to the table is for Project Hope to do better. I want it to move from the #10 spot on the team and slowly move on up. That will be a true indicator that the project is thriving and we are making headway. As a team and as youre elected leaders for this project.
Unlike our current president (I am referring to president Obama,) I don't want change. I will say this right from the start, that I do not want a single additional cruncher. Instead, I do want for us to change the current crunchers we have, to more economical and efficient Quads. Or whatever the new technology will bring. We are in a recession now and electricity is not cheap for our hosts. Some professors have even said that we might be in a depression now and that would not surprise me. Times are hard and we are all volunteers and are not getting paid to find cures. We do it out of the kindness of our hearts and because we each have hope that cures will be found.
Our blades / our hosts have done an incredible job to further this project. Personally I believe after 6-7 years it is time to look things over and see what needs to be fixed.
I hope that other members will jump into this election, because it is just that. We need a renewed interest in this project and a good old election is just what we need to bring a little life and energy into this project to keep it moving forward.
So if it is a Chairman you want that will add more blades I am the wrong person for the job. But if you want a person that will further this project in a multi faceted way then I believe I am the person that can make it happen.
Thank You, Slava | |
