 | what is a internet abuser let me take this commercial break to bring you ...intelligence. YA know using what you are able to for what you have. THAT folks means the people the USE there net and get the maximized value are the smart ones. GO talk to someone whom does a terabyte downloads , are they stupid retards out to destroy the net? Nope, they are doing for themselves what they are rightfully paying for and the company is the evil one that is in fact then penalizing everyone else with false advertising and propaganda.
Caps are a money maker , and a scam to boot. Imagine caps on highways on your drive to work ( better not be late ) Imagine caps on school buses ( sorry we didn't buy enough buses you have to wait)
It becomes quite easy to see who is doing a better job at capacity based systems and it is not private business. IT in fact is govt that controls the cash er last mile in effect and may then sub contract out as long as you have the capacity to give customer what they in fact need and want. |

On the highways we have traffic jams. The direct result of the highways or the roads it feeds reaching capacity.
When we run out of spaces on school buses and spaces in classrooms your taxes go up to fund more. In heavily populated areas like Queens NYC some of the schools are holding classes in trailers in the yard.
In some areas there are/were already caps on highways. They are called HOV lanes and HOV restrictions. NYC had them post 9/11 and during the last MTA strike. HOV 3+ meaning at least 3 people in a car.
Land is a finite resource. To expand highways you need to seize land with eminent domain and in some places it's just not possible to expand the highways without major pain.
With our growing population and huge numbers of illegals, the caps on your highways and schools are coming. |

With our growing population and huge numbers of illegals, the caps on your highways and schools are coming. But the "jams" on the CC network are not due to usage, but to poorly maintained infrastructure. Funny how even with "caps", the disconnects that people complain about did not go away.
While on the well maintained network segments, the "hogs" did not create any issues that proof was shown to anyone. -- Obama '08. Will help resolve the terrible broadband issues we have that put us so far behind other countries. |

I believe Comcast has always stated their concern was with ensuring performance of the last mile, which means on the particular node.
If someone was abusing the network, those "hogs" would would only be causing issues with other people on their particular node. That means maybe a couple hundred people tops. Now figure the odds of the "hog" coming onto a forum, and someone on that exact same node coming onto the same forum and commenting that their connection suddenly improved after the "hog" got booted.
Just because we can't see the correlation between one of these "Comcast Certified Hogs" (over 250meg AND top 1% nationally of use in a month) and overall impact doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
Going back to the highway analogy, Even if you have a 20lane highway that has enough capacity to move traffic, it won't do any good if your exit ramp has only one lane and you are stuck in traffic a traffic jam for 30min to exit the highway. |

Certainly we should take CC at their word with no proof, especially after their track record as in the FCC hearings.
