My family and I had plans of taking the train to DC Saturday to show my girls the monument, the mall and some museums but we are having 2nd thoughts about the increased risk. Thoughts? |

| If it doesn't make much difference and you can reschedule, you might want to give it a few weeks.
We're not hiding at home or anything, but a weekend jaunt sounds like something that can be postponed.

| reply to yahtzee The wife, kids and friends are going to Disneyland tomorrow - the germiest place on earth.. no.. we're not worried.. so far, there is no reason to be worried.. so you catch it.. you're in bed for two days, then you're fine.. seems like "the flu" to me.. even if it's a "pandemic", it's just a pandemic of "the flu" |

Thoughts? In my opinion you couldn't' go at a better time then now...you will avoid a lot of the crowds that would normally be there....fear is what the major media and some branches of government want you to feel....don't fall for it..go and enjoy yourselves. |

From what I have seen this is no more lethal then the regular flu so I do not understand why people are freaking out over this. -- For those of you playing a drinking game.... MY FRIENDS! |

| I don't get the whole fist bump substitute. I'm about as likely to touch my face with the back of my hand as with my fingers (e.g., leaning head on fist). The only right thing is to go ahead, shake hands, remember not to touch your face, and to either wash hands or douse with alcohol at next available, discreet, opportunity.
Second best is to grasp the person's sleeve, but who knows where that's been.

Thoughts? No but us here in Key West may have well confronted the cruise lines.... we are first stop fine... but last stop home from MX was likely to be NO WAY... but the cruse lines did it themselves, instead next month we will have 19 extra port calls... lots of money for the city though likely there will be lots of PO'd performers at sunset blocked Mallory Sunset Celebration. -- »haywardm.com (Hayward's Key West)

| reply to yahtzee If you're healthy, the worst that will happen is you get the flu. The only difference in this flu and any other strain of influenza is that we don't have an immunity to it. But that's why we have an immune system.
I really can't believe that people are freaking out over this. |
