VPN Tunnel

I am trying to set up a tunnel between two 3com office connect routers. I have set up tunnel details on both routers vpn pages however it won't connect.

On router A the log says
2009.05.01 11:30:04 [IKE] ***Send packet!
2009.05.01 11:30:04 [IKE MM] Start IKE, we are initiator.
and that is it nothing happens.

On router B the log says the same although the vpn screen says tunnel is in negotiation howevr it does nothing else and then says not connected

Please help

Re: VPN Tunnel

This implies that the packets are not getting between the units - in either direction, since neither unit is receiving data from the other.

This is most likely either an error in configuration of the IP addresses, or else UDP port 500 is blocked by something between the two routers.

Thanks for the reply. The ip's are correct, so if it is port 500, do i need to do something on the two routers to configure this port?
