Either this was a one off manufacturing fault, or an intrinsic but yet surfaced at large issue.
When the router was off and on again, wireless connection was non operational again. Took the unit to retailer for tech support, it worked again. Multiple on/off at shop did not yield any problem.
Decided to ask for an exchange to some other brand, namely 3COM. Seems that F5D8325 also has got issue with the modem connection (connection to modem/internet is lost; work around is available as discussed in this forum under some other headings BUT, why should a customer paying the premium for a supposedly reliable/high performance router have to operate a hardware that has got its own temper?).
My router is to make my life easier. I have no time to beg it to work for me. Nor is poorly designed/tested hardware. Hope you guys have better routing experience than mine in this case.
(BTW, my previous modem/router was a Belkin G, worked 24/7 and is good enough. This 8325 sort of tainted the Belkin reputation).
(And for those interested, the USB link to storage may also need persuasion to work properly- google before you buy for a clearer idea, esp if this is the feature drawing you to this product)
Best wishes.
