<description><![CDATA[<A HREF="/useremail/u/239636"><b>tschmidt</b></A> : Here is old BBR picture comparing the internal components of splitter (lower circuit card) and typical inline filter (upper circuit card.)<br><br>I used Corning/Siecor, now TII, whole house splitter. Have not done a comparison with other units. It is a three stage passive filter whereas in-line are typically single stage. Has fused secondary surge protection. The one I have has Half-Ringer test circuit after the filter allowing the one in the NID to be removed.
