DIR-655 Problems with websites, slow loading and finally 404

I am having the exact same problem as this post »forums.dlink.com/index.php?PHPSE···c=5150.0.

I have been updating my DIR-655 A2 with firmware 1.31.

However I still have some serious problems...

After a few days, pages started to load slowly all of a sudden, after that images and website layout are gone (and only text is displayed) and after that I get 404's...

I already tried 30/30/30 (clearing nvram) several times, redid all my settings manually, disabled QOS and stuff...

No one else is having this issue?

Not me. My A2 works just fine with 1.31.

Well it looks like this issue may still eventually occur in 1.31. I noticed in my router logs "unable to create new session" messages started to show up. But the router (A3 here) was still functional with no slowdowns after 5 days. I did just reboot to turn off DNS Relay again and change a couple QoS settings, so we'll see what develops again.

Are you talking about wired or wireless connections the slow downs?

Both wired and wireless...at least for me.

On one or all computers?

Reset your cable/dsl modem as well.

I'm having the same issues with 1.31 - I've never had this problem with previous firmware updates.

Yeh this particular issue started with 1.22b05 for me (didn't try 1.30 but read similar stories). I was at 45 days uptime with 1.21 before putting on 1.31. dstink definitely broke something (again)!

What hardware version of the DIR-655 are you folks using? I wonder if this issue is limited to a particular revision.

Just happened yesterday to me after a couple of weeks on 1.31: very slow access, lots of sites 404'ing, can't log into router. Sounds like some bug in the router firmware that causes a cpu consuming loop. Rebooting the router solved it. Until next time I guess. A3 hardware.

Is dns relay on or off when this happens?

So where is the best place to report stuff like this? Is there an official bug report site or email?

I did contact "support" and got a stupid response like "why did you upgrade your firmare" and "where did you get the firmware." LOL

Just happened again, second time with 1.31.

After about four days the router hung. A power cycle fixed it. This is not so convenient when you are on another continent trying to access your home network.

As reported by others, I've now seen this hang every several days with 1.22b05, 1.30, and 1.31.

More testing needs to be done on these firmwares.

And more review has to be done on dstink employees' qualifications.
