also if charter does go chapter 7 they will sell the area off to another cable company and would probably contenue to operate |

| reply to jchambers28 While I appreciate the noble sentiment, I don't want any provider to "die". The big problem we have is not enough competition among providers. I would hate for my only choice to be AT&T DSL, or AT&T ScrU-Verse, which is exactly what will happen to me if Charter does die. So instead of dying, I'd just like for them to get their head out of their behinds and get a clue (I know - fat chance). I will say that spending the extra bucks for Business service at least has made them tolerable - more than I can say for AT&T, but not very much more.
BTW, when Charter did my install they pulled the "cut the satellite wires" trick. Rather than call in to complain (and provide confirmation) so the guys could get an (alleged) bonus, my son grabbed my toolkit and went out back and spent 15 minutes putting nice new Paladin compression connectors on everything. I guess they are still wondering how come they didn't find a little something extra in their pay envelope. It never seems to dawn on them that many of their customers (or even their customer's kids) know more about this stuff than many of their (cough, cough) "technicians". |
