Need some answers fast, before signing...

My contract with Bell will end sometime on 23-24th this month. I already got my ST516v6 and WRT54GL up and running with tomato and I was firmly convinced to sign with Velcom. There had been some problems lately, from what I understand concerning the dns servers. A little bit of doubt is in my thoughts right now. Is this problem fixed, can any of the Velcom reps give me a straight answer on this problem? I'd still sign, but I need to know that even though some disconnection problems, it will not be like this all the time. I knew that Acanac gave some trial dsl logins, I don't think someone can hook me up with one just for one day?..
I need some advice guys. Peace

I've been using Velcom's DNS servers and no problems. I've only had to use OpenDNS once and that was awhile ago (2 weeks).

No disconnect problems or anything like that with my router (I reboot every Sunday at 3AM thou just to keep things fresh) and I have no complaints with them.

I've been with them a year now and they've only been down twice, late at night and usually get it back within 30-1hr tops. Any service they mass email with their report.

I've had quite a few issues with the connection in the past few weeks. It regularly drops during certain times. I've changed two modems, changed all the wiring inside the house, changed filters. Bell technician has been dispatched twice, but the issue remains.
Also, I don't know if it is Velcom or Bell, but if I try to ftp to one of my computers at home from outside, it just drops my connection, even though I have port 21 open on my router for that computer. After that, it takes a while for the service to come back up, and sometimes it just doesn't.
I wonder if my password is corrupted, or something to do with the line. so many different things in this forum, I don't know how much more to analyze.
