Metacafe is a video sharing site, which sounds like a lot like it could be a peer-to-peer application. Peer-to-peer apps can really make the uploading increase in the background without your knowledge. If you're at 130% on the upload, and don't feel like you've been actively uploading a lot yourself, that sounds very much like it could be the cause.
