It's *not* just in California (DSLx' pricing is cheaper than VZ in Maryland, too). And DSLx is the only provider I know of to offer dry-loop fiber Internet on the East Coast at all (even VZ requires you to take phone with your FIOS, while DSLx does not), let alone dry-loop fiber Internet to a residence. That alone would gain DSLx customers. |

That alone would gain DSLx customers. I'm afraid that's not true at all. fios data only has always been available. so has fios tv - as a standalone product. verizon phone is not required at all. |

| Maybe after trying to get you to take FIOS for phone (and in Maryland, the copper always goes away if you move your *existing* VZ phone service). By going with a third party, you could actually stand a decent chance of keeping the copper (just for phone). |
