Re: Number port from Fairpoint to Vonage

Since it was working before and now isn't, its probably something the Fairpoint did wrong (or didn't do) such as not remove your phone number from their local routing table or port your number back to them.

Is it a problem with all calls or just certain calls (such as local calls going to the Fairpoint voicemail but calls from out of your area and/or cell phone calls go to Vonage)?

Oddly, while it was not working last night, it is now working this morning. I'm not quite sure what's going on, but i'll keep checking on it. I have Sprint PCS for cell, and other family members have US Cellular, both have had problems with calling during these times when it doesn't work, as do pretty much any landlines, at least locally. I tend to agree that it's most likely some sort of routing table issue, but not being too much into the technical side of VOIP, I wasn't sure where to point the blame.
