Re: [TWC] Anyone have experience hosting on port 80?

From the Roadrunner Cable Modem Service Subscription Agreement (help.rr.com)

Subscriber will not resell the Road Runner Service, or any portion thereof, or otherwise charge others to use the Road Runner Service, or any portion thereof. Further, Subscriber will not redistribute the Road Runner Service, or any portion thereof, whether or not Subscriber receives compensation for such redistribution. The Road Runner Service as offered under this Agreement is a residential service offered for personal, non-commercial use only. Subscriber agrees not to use the Road Runner Service for operation as an Internet service provider, for the hosting of websites (other than as expressly permitted as part of the Road Runner Service) or for any enterprise purpose whether or not the enterprise is directed toward making a profit.

Beachie: thanks, the line you emphasized is the line I paraphrased in my OP. I'm not sure how I should interpret "expressly permitted as part of the Road Runner Service."

And I was also wondering, if it is definitely a negative, how many people get away with doing it anyway.

Long story short, it's against the TOS. Some folks do it anyway. Some get caught, some don't so it's up to you whether or not you want to do it. I do personally know of some that have had their service disconnected for TOS violations such as hosting a site.

Agreed! Beachie is right.

I did read it on the TOS I remember now. RR BIZ would take care of that for a few extra $$$.
