| Need GOOD Advice on Installing OSX on Averatec Buddy Netbook I bought an Averatec Buddy in January, and I understand that this is basically a rebranded MSI Wind. It has the Atom processor, 1GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Wireless, 1.3 Webcam, 10.2" screen and NO blueooth. It is currently running Win XP very well.
Problem is, I don't want to run XP. I want OSX. I am currently using 10.5 on my new Mac Mini, and I want to have this same functionality on the go. I do not have the funds for a new Mac laptop, so I thought I would repurpose my Averatec to make a hackintosh.
I have found lots of online sources of info, but I don't know whom to trust. Can anyone suggest a good source of info on this?
I have OS 10.5 install discs, but they are specific to my mini. Do I need to buy a retail box for this? Also, Is there any way to install everything via USB thumb drive, as I do not have an external/USB DVD drive.
This is an adventure for me, but I really do want to end up with something that I can put in my purse and take with me. I love macs, and I am tired of waiting for an Apple netbook. I do have an iPod touch, which I love, but I still want the better functionality of a netbook. Wifi is s deal breaker - I need it.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
