Ah yes, programming monopoly with the NFL. What better way to get customers, by telling them that if you want to watch an out of market team, you have to go with DTV, not cable/telco
Or you could just keep cable and pay for PPV like NHL Center Ice to view out of market games. I believe PPV also exists for MLB and Bball. Not sure about NFL, however as I am not a fan.
What they are saying is that the NFL's version of NHL Center Ice, known as Sunday Ticket, is exclusive to DirecTV. So if you want to watch out of market games, you have to subscribe to DirecTV as the others do not offer it.

Like I said, not a fan of the NFL so I don't really care. With very few and very limited exception, however, satellite v. cable differences aren't very meaningful or significant. Case in point: Sunday Ticket. Take it up with your cable co. if you want it to be offered.

Thats the whole point. The NFL has an exclusive deal with DTV. I cant take it up with my cable company.

um they just renewed their exclusive deal with directv until 2014. How is "taking it up" with my cable company going to do anything?

And yeah it IS a huge difference.

Agreed. I am a diehard Eagles fan, but I live in Kansas City. Now, fortunately I know how to watch my games online... somehow... uhhem.... but anyway I would LOVE to be able to watch in HD using Comcast. But nope not gonna happen.

Eagles fan here too! Unfortunately, I'm in Florida. I had the Sunday Ticket the last two years but I won't be getting it this year. Way to expensive. I guess I will have to "watch online" as well.
