 | Why not register an account here and answer questions here? The Gizmo forum doesn't exactly show the company in a good light, so lets pretend it does not exist for the moment. :-p

 | Hi Kieran,
I can do that for sure but if I start replying here all of our paid customers and the customers who are new to Gizmo will not get an extra attention.
And by this they will force themselves to leave Gizmo5.
I hope you can understand me |
|
1 edit | I realize the the BBR forum should be behind in priority to the G5 forum, (as it should be so I am not questioning that) but all paid clients should be submitting support tickets if they have issues. Tickets are the most important thing. I have had tickets open for months there without responses.
I was willing to pay a pretty hefty ($40) fee ro to Port my numbers over, but after a few months of no response I gave up. |

However I'm willing to give a break to anyone brave enough to take on the title of Gizmo support. |

 | reply to kieranmullen Kieran,

 Gizmo5 Senior Managers. |
"Navid" if you really are associated with Gizmo5, I must say that your response is not logical.
Or perhaps it was meant as an attempt at humor?
I am a paid Gizmo5 customer by the way, but I gave up on your (dis)organization a while back. For one thing, I was never able to even register in the Gizmo5 forum.
Once when I was driving in eastern Queens (NYC), a lady pulled up to me at a traffic light and she asked how to get to Hackensack (NJ). I could only say, "Maam, you are more lost than most people can be". And that's what I would say to your bosses at Gizmo.
The irony is that your bosses could learn a lot of good ideas from the Gizmo5 users, AND the other folks, on THIS forum. |
|
 | He is new I am assuming to support. So you can't exactly blame him for the faults of the entire company. |

2 edits | I agree entirely!!
That's why I referred twice to his "bosses", and labelled the photo as being "senior managers".
The sooner he learns what the issues are, and how bad support has been, the better he will be able to do his job.
He's not going to hear from those bosses how bad things are.
So he needs to hear it from the users. It's like getting vaccinated. |

Navid, here is my 1st question to you regarding Gizmo5. First reported here that Gizmo5 (G5) -> Google Voice (GV) via SIP has stopped working. My 1st suspect is GV has deactivated the SIP incoming. However, I just want to be sure of it. So, can you confirm that this isn't a feature just blocked by G5? -- Mazilo always prays for FREEBIES! US Phone: +1-678-601-0907 UK Phone: +44-703-194-2574

 | I'm not having any problems with G5 so I don't think SIP URI dialing has been turned off system-wide. I can get incoming and make outgoing via SIP. |

So far some of the tests I have done with my Gizmo5 (G5) -> Google Voice (GV) setup with my SPA-1001 box is working for incoming calls. Am I just lucky or is it working for other folks too?
Thanks in advance for sharing your experience. |

I, too, can confirm that I've had no trouble with constant incoming calls to my Gizmo5 DID directed to the G5 SIP-URI picked up on my ExpressTalk softphone. (My office uses this DID for incoming dictations to a hard disk based transcription system.) |

curro: Is your G5 -> GV setup via SIP? You say incoming calls, but if you call your G5 DID and it forwards to GV, can you press *, PIN, 2 and make outgoing calls?
I'm just trying to find out if we're on the same page. |

 | reply to N9MD "hard disk based transcription system" Is that basically voicemail that you email off or does the system analyze the voicemail?

1 edit | said by kieranmullen:"hard disk based transcription system" Is that basically voicemail that you email off or does the system analyze the voicemail? One of our medical office networked terminals has ExpressTalk and DialDictate software on the hard disk ... along with a headset connected to the audio output and a foot pedal hooked up to a serial port.
ExpressTalk software allows up to 6 individual phone lines ... each continuously registered to one of several VoIP providers' DIDs via their SIP-URIs (e.g., IpKall, Gizmo5) ... allowing alternate access if one provider is down for a while. My partners and I can dial into one of the DIDs from any outside or inside phone (PSTN, Cellular, VoIP) ... the call is answered by ExpressTalk which then activates the DialDictate software that acts as a digital recording device, controlled by DTMF tones such as "2" to Dictate, "3" to Pause. The system has voice prompts that ask for a DTMF password (which we can preset) to keep "wrong number" callers from leaving messages.
We can then dictate a medical report or staff memo for transcription by one of our typists ... the audio stream being digitized on the hard disk. DialDictate then maintains a list of all dictations (prioritized by level of importance, if we wish), showing the date and time and dictator, which can be accessed by our transcriptionist using the foot pedal (forward, reverse, fast forward) to listen to the dictations and type the information into a new WORD document.
I do not currently have the setup linked to a Voice Recognition system, but that is doable.
When I initially set this up several years ago, the software was free; the license fee to register each Phone Line was about $75 per line; and the foot pedal was another $60 or so. So, safe to say, we've gotten our money's worth. The only ongoing expense is the hourly wage for our two typists. |
