Well I have NO intention of leaving DirecTV anytime soon, ESPECIALLY for the paltry HD lineup that cc offers here. Some of the reasons why I'd be foolish to leave are:
-I pay NO DVR fees on ANY DVR's, since I'm grandfathered on lifetime DVR service that's already paid for itself twice
-I'm grandfathered on TC+, which is $3 LESS than new customers get for the same prog pkg, & which is WAY less for comparable prog from cc
-For the monthly price we pay for ONE lame cc HD DVR, I get THREE from DirecTV; & before anyone asks, I paid ZERO upfront for all of them
-DirecTV has been very generous with giving me upgrades & add-ons - I actually have 5 DVR's altogether & between all of them, I've only paid about $150 over the course of almost a decade of service
-remote DVR scheduling - nuff said there
-DVR's do SO much more than the moto stuff cc has here, such as being able to plug in e-sata drives for more space
-if something does break, I can fix it myself MUCH more quickly than waiting on cc to get out to fix (course I can't tell you the last time I did have to fix something, other than an occasional reboot)
-DirecTV is always giving free previews of premiums - HBO & MAX are both free this weekend for example; I just wait until these freebies & DVR movies that I can watch later
When I got my last FREE HD DVR upgrade, they gave me FREE HBO & Showtime f/3 months to boot!
