Re: [CATV] Junky DVR boxes Just a little update, the box just continues to get worse, I just hope I can wait it out while I clear the DVR of shows I haven't watched.
Every other time you touch the remote, the box does the little command buffer thing, it has crashed (image freezes, box resets itself, loses all program and channel data) 4 times in the last month, it loses program data completely every couple of days, never fully populates (it's lucky if there is a weeks worth, more commonly 1-2 days max). I guess over the summer, when there are no new shows to restrict the DVR exchange, I will have to play cable box lottery hoping I get one that doesn't make me want to take it out into a field Office Space style. |

BTW, this is my 5th box in 6 months. |

Later, after erroneously reporting the DVR as full when at 84%, it started recording a show, it stated it was recording on the guide, red light was on and it was in the DVR menu, I go back later and it disappeared. A few hours later, it did the input buffer bug, but not for the normal 30 seconds, this time for a good 3 minutes, then it took another few minutes to go through the few commands I had given it (2 swap tuner, a couple OK, couple exits, couple "live").
Fun times. |
