 | IP Address Reservation Im using a Netgear WGR614v6 (Firmware = V2.0.19_1.0.19NA) as a router for a home network. I need to utilize port forwarding/triggering for my computer, so i've set it up to trigger certain ports on my computer. The thing is, these ports are triggered based on IP addresses, and every time i turn on my computer, the router assigns me a different local IP address which means i have to log-in to my router and switch it. I have IP reservation turned on and i reserved 192.168.1.2 for my computer (via MAC address) but that doesnt seem to be working, im still assigned other IP addresses...any ideas on how to correct this problem??
thanks! |

 | Verify you are using the correct MAC addresses (multiple adapters maybe?). Possibly a firmware issue if you have the correct MAC address as that is how IP reservation is done. As an alternative you could just use a static IP on the computer. |

 | reply to jcvox93 Why don't you turn off the DHCP client in the PC and set it with a static IP address? |
