way too expensive for that - I have a prepaid plan from ATT that is $100, minutes last a year and they give you the phone. That's $8/month, less than 1/10 the cost of this plan. For 1/10 the cost, I'll deal with having to add minutes every year.

Actually, buy a $100 card and your service lasts a year ($8.33 per month) or a $25 card for 90 days ($8.33 per month). Until you take the phone out of the glove compartment and make a call, you aren't charged out of that $100 for usage. So out of the year you could have 33 days during which you talk as much as you want. Nice for emergencies since you're not constantly in fear of draining your minute account in one day.

Though honestly I'd go with a Verizon-based prepaid (Page Plus Cellular for example) at this point; Verizon + Alltel = MASSIVE COVERAGE.
